The Relaxer Comeback!

Some of you may have noticed the increase in ladies returning to Relaxing after being Natural for a few years

Just like any fad or fashion, hairstyles always make a comeback. Many have grown tired of battling frizz, shrinkage, thickness, and detangling. Those who have struggled with their Natural hair during the Natural hair movement are throwing in the towel and are calling it QUITS! They realized being healthy means balance. Hair grief is real, and all hair is not the same. We've gotta learn to work with what we've been given. We can do chemical Relaxing in a way that is safe and keeps your hair healthy.

CONSIDER THIS…

Ditch the bone-straight concept and allow your hair to be slightly textured with its Natural pattern while using chemical relaxers. Make sure to keep the chemical off the full length of your hair during retouches. When a relaxer touches our hair from the scalp to the ends repeatedly, it weakens the hair.

• Learn to stretch out your retouch time. As long as you don't notice shedding near retouch time, this is a safe practice. Wearing protective styles when you need a retouch gets you over the hump.

• LESS HEAT! Meaning NO Ceramic Irons and lighten up on blow-drying. As much as you all love Ceramic Irons, they cause the most damage to relaxed hair (especially those doing their hair at home). Switch to Titanium Irons. They give a salon look without the damage. The trick is to use high moisturizing & hydrating shampoo, conditioner, and oil before you set and style your hair. This will make the hair silky without a lot of heat and it'll remain smooth between shampoos. Just like any fad or fashion, hairstyles always make a comeback.
