Shampooing

WHEN TO SHAMPOO…

Good hygiene keeps the body healthy, but some take this concept a bit too far. Do you struggle with NOT shampooing your hair? Some Black women’s preference is to shampoo their hair 2 or 3 times a week, especially when they work out. There’s a big difference between needing to shampoo and wanting to. For instance, those with scalps and hair that get oily or smell sour 4 days after shampooing should shampoo often. Their scalps produce oils at a high rate and shampooing keeps it fresh. When you don’t have a high rate of oils producing but still shampoo often, it stunts the health and growth of your hair.

STRIPPING MOISTURE...

Removing the oils, moisture, and hydration needed for optimal nutrients causes split-ends, shedding and thinning in Black women’s hair. Resulting in not-so-cute hairstyles as well. If you're itching to shampoo, purchase a moisturizing shampoo that hydrates, detangles, and softens the hair during the shampoo process. Or you can always try rinsing your hair and running a moisturizing conditioner through, followed by a detangler, to keep from losing all your oils and moisture.
